Mont-Bellevue Park is a must-visit destination if you're looking for a relaxed outdoor getaway that still allows you to get a good dose of exercise. It is nestled in the beautiful Estrie region in Quebec, close to downtown Sherbrooke, behind the University. This park offers a multitude of activities such as mountain biking, archery and skiing.
The 7 km of multi-use trails are accessible to everyone, making it the ideal place for a family stroll. The main trail, which circles the mountain, can be quite busy, particularly in the summer. It is a wide path, but shaded because it is always in the heart of the forest. It will allow you to cover 6.4 km in approximately 1h15. You can also shorten your walk by cutting (not quite in two) via track 1, which connects the Dunant parking lot to the University. Heading towards track 3, you will walk approximately 3.5 km.
For those looking for more tranquility, I suggest you opt for the 5 km of rustic hiking trails in the Mont J.-S.-Bourque sector. These trails are narrower and have more elevation gain. We especially come across a few people there who practice trail running. These are our favorite trails!
On summer evenings, I suggest you go through the Dunant entrance, since this side of the mountain is very busy with the Dalbix mountain bike club which practices from Monday to Thursday. Respect the intended use of the trails, it is not safe to go on mountain bike trails with your dog.
It is difficult to get lost at Mont-Bellevue, but I must say that the trails are quite poorly marked and it is difficult to find your way on the trail map...
